BUDGET COMMITTEE OPENINGS
Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District – Budget Committee Openings
Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District is seeking community members who live within the District boundaries to serve on our Budget Committee.
Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District is a separate governmental entity from the City of Umatilla. The District is an independent special taxing district, established under Oregon law, and operates under its own elected Board of Directors. The Fire District has its own budget, tax rate, and governance structure independent of the City.
Under Oregon Local Budget Law (ORS 294), special districts are required to establish a Budget Committee made up of the Board of Directors and an equal number of appointed electors (registered voters) from within the district. The Budget Committee plays an important role in reviewing, discussing, and approving the District’s annual budget before it is adopted by the Board.
This is your opportunity to:
- Be involved in how public funds are allocated
- Support transparency and accountability
- Help shape the future of fire and emergency services in our community
Deadline to Apply: March 1
Committee Appointments: March 4 during the Regular Board Meeting
If you are interested in serving, please submit a letter or email of interest no later than March 1 to:
Fire Chief Chris Baker @ chris.baker@umatillafire.org

PO Box 456
